I've owned a DAM Quick 330 Spin Cast reel for the past 45 years and it finally died this past weekend. When I opened it up, the pin that triggers the bail had worn down to a nub.
What's a comparable reel that I can invest in today that is as durable and reliable as my old faithful? Thank you.

My grand father gave me his quick d.a.m 220 open spinning reel. I believe it must be at least 50 years old, but noticed that there are selling for around $50.00. Could this be true if it is that old? Is there any way that I can tell, or someone to call or write... thank you much.
Jason's reply:
It seems as if some of them are going for that price, possibly on the high end average I would suppose. However, it greatly depends on the quality and condition they are in. I checked out some listing on Ebay that range upwards of around $140 to nearly $200.
You can check out the Dam Quick Ebay listings listed on our reference page. You should be able to see what they are selling for to get an estimate what your dam fishing reel might be worth.
Hope this helps and Best Regards,
Jason

I have a D.A.M. Quick 330 spinning real made in west Germany. How can I find out when it was made?
Jason's reply:
Most reels that don't have an actual date on them, should have like a code somewhere on them. Look for something like a two digit letter marking on the reel. Then you'll have to look that up. I'm not 100% sure that it will be a 2 digit code on your particular reel, but it should give you a good idea of what to look for.
You might also want to see about taking it to an expert, even like a fishing tackle store or possibly a bait shop. Those guys are usually very helpful. It could also be a good idea to take it to an antique dealer because they usually know a lot about the history of just about anything.
Well, I hope this helps. Let me know how it works out for you, because now I'm kinda curious to know for sure about knowing how to determine when these DAM fishing reels were manufactured.
Good luck!

I have a DAM Quick 330 spinning reel. How do I change the handle to the other side?
Jason's reply:
Jon, not all reels are equipped with the option to have the handle switched from one side to the other.
However, if yours has the ability to do so, then I assume you would have to unscrew the side cover plates and switch the handle and plates from one side to the other.
But, since you have the DAM reel in your possession and asking how to switch it, then I kind of wonder if it might not even have the option to. So, are you asking how to switch it, or if it's even possible on your particular fishing reel?
Would you mind sending me a picture of the reel so that I can take a look to see for sure, or let me know the manufacture date of it?
Best Regards,
Jason

Is there a web site to order new quick reels in the USA?
Jason's reply:
Hey Eric, I've searched around a little, but couldn't find much about new DAM Quick Reels being sold within the United States.
I also checked out the DAM Facebook page and seen that others have asked about the same thing. DAM's response was that they currently are not represented in the US, but that they do have something in the works. (The present date of this writing is August, 2011)
In the meantime, I suppose you could check out Ebay or other places like that. I believe I saw something from OverstockBait for some dam quick spinning reels that had been mass ordered just before they stopped making that certain model.
DAM also says that you can email them at info@dam.de with your questions and they'll see if they can help.
I hope this helps. Good luck,
Jason

Hi all, I'm in the process of giving my DAM Quick VSI 630 FD a new lease on life and my intention is to strip it completely, give it a good service, grease/oil and then re-assemble. The only hassle is that I can't seem to find any schematics or a parts list for this reel anywhere on the net... Can somebody please help me in this regard?
Regards,
Demian
Jason's reply: Demian, that's a little strange that there really isn't much to be found on the internet about the schematics for the model of your fishing reel.
I usually refer to the list found on the page here at the following link
http://www.reeldr.com/SCHEMATICS/DAM%20QUICK/index.html
when looking for schematics of any type of DAM Quick reel. They seem to have the most variety of schematics and parts lists for the different types of reels that they show on their website. However, your reel is obviously not listed there either. I was thinking that you could possibly find a similar reel there and compare the two together, but I'm really not sure if that would be ideal. It could be worth a try.
Another option could be to go to the D.A.M. website and use their contact form to ask if they could be able to supply you with the schematics. That might be your best bet.
I hope this helps you out a little. If you have any other questions about your DAM Quick VSI 630FD fishing reel, feel free to ask them here.
Best regards,
Jason

I am looking for angle lever for a quick 110n reel, part number 910-3934. A 110 part does not fit. It has to be a 110n. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm willing to pay what ever it costs. Thanks!

Can anyone tell me why this model is so expensive? Did they make that few, and if so, how can I tell with the serial number? Thanks.

I've got a few D.A.M. Quick spinning reels, model 330. Where can I purchase the ball bearing (replacement part no. 100-176)? Thanks.
Jason's reply:
Hi Oswald,
I checked around at a few places, but the most reliable sources seem to be out of stock of that part at this time.
I also checked on Ebay and it looks like you might be able to get lucky there. Just go to Ebay and enter "dam quick reel 330 parts" into the search box and see what is listed there.
Good luck,
Jason

I have been given a couple of fishing reels. One is a D.A.M. Quick BC165, the other is a BC180. I don't know anything about them. Can you help?
How old are they? Can you still buy them? How much would they have cost new?
Regards,
John

Hi, I have been left these two D.A.M. Quick Fishing Reels - both are 4000 models with spare spools, in almost mint condition. Any info on these would be most welcome...?
